"Ain’t no need to watch where I'm goin', just need to know where I been".

Before getting into the essence of titles, labels and space, here’s a quick highlight to consider as my cosmic version of a weather update:
Nature creates its own pause with planetary retrogrades. We will be experiencing several months of Neptune’s back and forth behaviour until it moves into Aries in January 2026 where it will remain for thirteen years.
During this time, we will be experiencing a redefinition of our dreams and beliefs that have shaped our paths to this point; helping us to see through the waning fog for individual reinvention.
So if you feel like you’re ‘really going through it’, you’re not alone.
Last week I posited:
It’s tempting to ask how much revisiting is truly necessary. Can progress exist without reopening old scars? It seems counterintuitive to relive pain to heal it, yet if something still causes reaction, its asking to be acknowledged.
Well, I’ve been in my own early ‘retrograde’ since then which has sparked some overdue identity changes, and I wonder what alternatives you’re also feeling the need to make?
Prelived
You may (or not) have noticed I’ve given this publication its own identity, and feel that after my recent chat with my spirit team, Prelived covers all the bases I want to hold discussion and reflections under. In fact, I can’t even take credit since ‘them upstairs’ (as I affectionately call them) gave it to me within minutes of me requesting a quick response to alleviate my roundabout of stuckness. Seriously, they typed it out on my phone in my hand.
But what took them so long?!
I’d spent days searching for inspiration going from book to book, conversation to conversation and looking everywhere but within myself for inspirational nuggets. It was during my daily walk of peace and quiet that I asked rather exasperatedly, for assistance. So why didn’t I do that before? Simply because I’d retrograded back into my own myth of believing people outside of me held the answers I sought, rather than knowing my higher self (and team) will always know the direction.
So basically, I hadn’t asked them.
But isn’t our spirit team classed as external guidance? Not exactly.
Our higher self and spirit team are extensions of our own divine consciousness. They are not the same as seeking external validation or guidance filtered through the personal bias system of another human. Unlike answers from societal conditioning, inner guidance comes from a place of pure wisdom aligned with our highest life path. By asking ‘them upstairs”, we’re empowered to trust our own intuition without dependence on outside perspectives. Whilst it may seem we’re looking beyond our self for answers, we’re actually reconnecting with the most authentic part of who we are.
Our life path is shaped by our soul’s desire to learn and grow; accumulating wisdom through the linear experience of time - past, present and future. So this makes Prelived the perfect title for this newsletter, whilst adding a rather spot-on example of our higher self / team in action.
This shift in publication title mirrors the theme of personal evolution, much like Neptune’s movement helps us redefine our dreams. For me, it’s prompted a review of the label I’ve outgrown, how I relate to my work, and my sense of identity.
The Coach, The Witch and The Cabin
I’ve been distancing myself from labels for a while, whether I’d adopted them or presented them myself. The signage I’ve had for many years says, ‘Practitioner’ and that’s what I’m ‘back-spacing’ to.
In my last post I shared that I’m more solitary than not and avoid any form of ‘herd mentality’; preferring to find my own truth. I don’t favour the term ‘spiritual’ either, or any other form of doctrine. I endeavour to walk what I consider to be a middle path of dark and light that contributes toward my individualism; cherry picking only what I relate to from various practices and modalities, and forming my own version.
My work is a sincere sharing of my experiences, not a means to elevate myself, conform, or contribute to saturated trends. In this spirit, I’ve found myself refining my writing to embrace a reflective tone rather than any form of a directive one.
Trends can introduce ideas in accessible, modern ways and spark meaningful transformation, but I step back from the clichés that don’t align with my core values. My discomfort with personal marketing and superficiality clashes with mainstream spirituality - a term that along with titles such as ‘Life Coach’, or ‘Energy Healer’ have become majorly cringe for me and I find myself stumbling when asked what I do, and to my awareness, have felt a defensiveness rise within me.
Despite holding legitimate certifications, I see myself at most as someone who paints an abstract image of ideas and practices that invite personal interpretation and emotional enquiry rather than following a fixed path. Everything I offer is for kindred spirits seeking quiet, personal enquiry, not an assembly line of who shouts loudest.
I continue to evolve in every moment and do not cling to any form of identity my ego thinks it needs for mass production. Any whiff of that and I call it out; returning to a place of self exploration and recognising it as a past energetic imprint that is asking for release.
These posts are an invitation to challenge assumptions, rethink, rewrite and question our beliefs and conditioning. To retrace our origins and revisit the source of an idea, memory or perception to understand their roots in our generational and ancestral lineage and how to progress in accordance of who we are, not what our neighbour is doing. I offer a window into my experiences and practices for you to find relatability in your own journey, and maybe, to loosen any shackles of self limitations.
This movement in my identity leads me to also reflect on the timeless aspects of personal transformation.
Back to the Future
In changing the name, I needed to update the logo from the typewriter ‘S’ key. When approaching my antique typewriter for inspiration, I spotted the vintage message that was so much more than its action. Whilst not the new logo, it wanted to be seen.
The Back Spacer key reminded me to consider what the space reveals when something is erased or rewritten. Often, the space itself offers more insight than the words that were there before, and what was erased reveals what was meant to stay.
Just because something is no longer in the tangible or physical form, doesn’t mean to me that it’s disappeared, since everything leaves an energetic imprint. Just as fire refines metal, space is part of transformation and what was perhaps deleted, reveals an echo of what is yet to be written.
I trust in our soul’s ability to shift timelines, to rewrite karmic cycles and disrupt unconscious patterns. We can to some extent, rewrite fate. The veil between our reality is found in the space where that reality is rewritten - whether in text, thought, or existence itself.
Emptiness, absence, or silence can be just as transformative as presence and action. Through back-spacing we can notice where something is, was, or where nothing has yet formed - teaching us contrast and introspection.
What is left unsaid can hold just as much power. What no longer exists can carry deep meaning; sculpting our understanding, emotions and evolution just as powerfully as what remains.
And within this void, we find our teacher.
“Jesus George, it was a wonder I was even born.”

Un-mute.
Over the past few days, I’ve cycled through a small army-base-sized load of laundry, unpacked crystals still waiting from a move months ago, updated a cabin photo on my last post, addressed my admin, refreshed website content, hoovered my new black carpet more times than I can count, and found some other truly inspiring ways to faff. But my personal bes…
