News and Updates
Publication Break
This publication will be taking a break for a few weeks whilst I manage arrangements leading up to, and the recovery from, a personal health matter that has arisen. I’ve gone back and forth over my ability to juggle it all, but realise this is yet another example of needing to walk the talk in taking self compassionate time, and personal responsibility, to retreat and restore.
The forecast below takes us forward to the end of July and if I’m able to return earlier, the energy will simply overlap and create additional insight. During this time, practice reflecting on your daily energy and how your experiences resonate with the forecast energy. Keep me posted too; I love hearing your emailed reflections although please bear with me as I may take longer to respond during this time.
Session Availability
I have restructured my sessions and availability to reflect my personal energy and the healing space I need. From this point I am taking bookings from August onwards, although if availability and energy allow, clients will be notified of any short-notice opportunity at the end of July. My immediate schedule allows for current clients only.
All sessions will be online until I am firing on all four-cylinders again. I’m ridiculously house-proud and don’t need the Mary Poppins energy in my life right now that arises right before in-person sessions ;o)
New Session Offering
I have created a slightly shorter version of my Life Path session to be presented within an hour’s time-frame. Again this is to reflect my energy whilst I recuperate, but is also a good opportunity to notice if slightly shorter sessions become a promising addition as an alternative option to the standard 90 minute Life Path sessions. It doesn’t mean I’ll be talking twice as fast as I usually do to cram everything in (aaaah relief), but rather focusing on your core energy and leaving foundational skill development to the longer session/(s).
Group Sessions
I have been gearing up to teach group sessions but the timing has yet to present. However I feel this will be brought to life from September onwards. So this is a question for you as to whether you would be interested in group sessions online or in-person. I plan to manage both, perhaps one session per week of each, or maybe fortnightly. I’m yet to hammer out the details and that’s where you come in.
A wise, but far from old, Owl recently suggested I bring this publication to life by creating a support circle where I teach my style of daily tarot and Lenormand, incorporating Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Numerology and a host of other knowledge I have. Preliminary speaking, this would be different to the sessions I detail on my website, but still a fusion perhaps based on this format.
My aim is to be present in helping you achieve self connection which leads on to the development of personal boundaries and self authority. Connection has become even more critical over the last few years and it is my way of doing what I can to end the sense of isolation that far too many people feel, and to create a space you sense you can belong in.
Have your say and email me your thoughts on what you feel about this and what your preferences would be.
1 and 1 equals 11
I couldn’t let this landmark publication number go by without reference to The Eleven. Being a Master Number Eleven it was tempting to make this post all about this wholly intuitive number that resonates and shows up in so many lives. But I’ve decided against doing so because not everyone has this number shaking their existence. Instead, I’ll leave the ‘eleven focus’ for an independent post that I’m already feeling called to write whilst in recuperation mode.
For now though, I’d like to mark this article post number with an extract from Michelle Buchanan’s numerology oracle deck as I feel it’s fitting for the High Priestess reflections and the forecast for the next few weeks that we’re about to launch into.
11 = Individuality
“Eleven indicates a need to embrace your individuality and be your true, authentic self. Rather than follow the crowd, break away from the pack and “take the road less travelled”. Instead of feeling like you’re a square peg in a round hole, build your own “square hole”. Celebrate your uniqueness and have the courage to speak your truth and march to the beat of your own drum despite the opinions of those around you. As you honour your individuality and feelings, you will reclaim your personal power and enhance your self connection.”
Reflecting on Last Week’s Forecast
The High Priestess of last week, doesn’t appear lightly and she’s been prominent for me over the last seven days, sending gentle reminders for me to enquire within.
She asked us where we can create a greater sense of calm in our individual situations? And, upon establishing a particular source of direction, how will we know if it’s enough? If it’s right for us?
I’m not a fan of the term ‘over-thinking’. We are born with minds to use and some of us are here to purposely use our minds to fulfill roles of critical or psycholgical reasoning. We are all here for different experiences and to use the skills we have naturally been gifted.
Strong mental energy is an asset within communication and creative endeavours, however the shadow side can result in destructive self-talk and anxiety that can easily form a loop.
“The mind can be a great asset. It can bring comfort, peace and strength as you take your spiritual journey. It can also be a dark and destructive force, undermining your power, doubt your own heart and keep you trapped in fear. The mind, developed without a loving spiritual practice, can be a frightening weapon rather than a liberating sword.”
- Alana Fairchild
Without the space to become present, notice each moment, and ‘empty’ the layers of ‘mind-tabs’ we all have open at any one time, our powerful minds can become manipulated through fear and overwhelmed with unprocessed information.
Our minds can be become a product of societal expectations and dominate over the inclinations of our heart, rather than serve what it values most. The power lies within our very hearts to propel us through fear, whilst the role of our mind is to manage, create and defend the spirit that we feel within our heart.
At times, our emotion can become overwhelming and our heart bears the brunt. We attempt to hush it; tell it to be quiet and persuade our minds to feel instead. The result is futility.
A mind is not meant to feel, and a heart is not meant to be logical or to think.
Attempting to swap them over results in analysis paralysis, confusion and emotional pain. And loops. Plenty of cycles, patterns and loops.
Disengaging from habitual mental patterns takes practice. We can learn to observe our thoughts rather than be ‘hooked’ by them and a slave to habitual behaviour that undermines who we are at heart. Whilst this may sound psychological in approach, it is very much an intuitive practice, because it requires observation, or a distance to notice. And that requires being present in the moment.
Will your painful thoughts go away? No. And to struggle with their volume is akin to break-dancing in quicksand. Observe yes. Struggle no.
With observation, persistence, self compassion, kindness and strength, you can learn to be present within each moment in times of mental spiral and whilst it’s impossible to find an off-switch, it is possible to find peace with constructive framing and creating a distance between who you are and what you think.
Whilst the goal may be to feel better, the real goal is how can we be better?
When we take steps to change how we respond, the glorious side-effect is the emotional relief we initially sought.
But we cannot put the cart before the horse.
Mid June - end of July Forecast
True Black Tarot: L-R: Four of Pentacles, Ten of Wands, Bottom of Deck: Anant reversed
Left: What energy guides us through the next several weeks?
The Four of Pentacles
I’ve purposely left this spread to three cards and resisted the mirage to overcompensate to reflect the forecast timescale. And I’m glad I did because whilst these may seem a lighter energy, that is another mirage.
The Four of Pentacles refers to all that we hold on to - and what for? Fear of loss? Fear of losing control? Fear of succeeding?
Psychologically speaking this is the self protection card and when this appears, it indicates a long-held constraint that has generated a behavioural pattern and way of being in order to manage the surrounding environment.
It arrives to make you question the wisdom behind the attachment; whether what you hang tightly to is beneficially reflecting prudence and wisdom, or whether it’s leading you to lead a solitary life of instability for fear of the consequence when loosening the grip.
Psychosomatically speaking, this card can indicate repressed and stored tension within the body. Emotion, when we look at the word, can be split as follows: E-Motion. In other words, energy in motion.
Repressed emotion is stored in many places, one of which is the fascia and can lead to health challenges if not worked through. Anger, sadness… all emotions that correlate to certain parts of our anatomy that house the topic of turmoil. I think I’ve mentioned Louise Hay’s book before (I’m not affiliated), but if not, it’s worth picking up for more on this subject. We are what we think.
As Mary Van Hook writes, “Stories don’t mirror life, they shape it.”
What narrative does your mind follow that impacts the well-being of your body? And what page can you now turn within this story that will release tension for your overall well-being?
Middle: For what reason?
The Ten of Wands and Anant Reversed
Tens indicate cycles closing out and being a Wand suggests we’ve been carrying a burden that’s bigger than us for too long. This thing - is massive. We’ve resisted and lived through its attempts to crush us but we developed resilience along the way and have not let it beat us.
The Anant belongs only to the True Black deck and as I was called to use this deck for this longer forecast, it’s not by chance it’s appeared. Anant exists between the space of the last major arcana; The World, and the beginning illustrated by The Fool. Anant represents the cyclical nature of eternity and reminds us no one is exempt.
In this particular reading, I’m getting an overwhelming sense that many of us are at a half way point in our life’s phase. Something that has or is, taking a long time to work through, almost the entire point to our lives in fact, has reached a turning point and we’re being asked to notice where we enable the cycle to continue, or whether we have grown to a point of release and thus growth and transition to the next phase.
If you knew you couldn’t possibly fail, what precipice would you step towards and for what personal value does this choice represent for you?
The Nutshell
Even the word ‘block’ irks me. Whilst ‘challenge’ feels better because it leads us to rise up given enough passion for the cause, the word still sits within a family of limitation.
However, there’s a sense of needing to find a way around something, or to fight against it, or to put our energy behind re-strategising for our desired outcome. Either way, blocks feel prohibitive which means there is no flow.
And there lies the problem. Where there is no flow, struggle resides because that word is best mates with control. And fear. And loops. And ‘Groundhog Day’.
Lessons will keep comin’ around… until we come around.
You may now be realising the heavy weight of misplaced responsibility taking its toll and rearing up to say ‘enough!’ With the cyclical reversal indicated by the Anant, we have a choice. Do we continue to turn a blind eye to what could potentially continue to harm us, or do we step off the carousel, take the time required to stop our minds revolving, and see more clearly which direction we want to place our energy?
This is a time for rest as this ‘challenging’ time (sorry, couldn’t resist), is brought to our forefront to transition through. There’s a sense of closure here; something that tastes the same but that’s been brought to you over the years in different wrapping, is now closing out. You’ve done the hard yakka, and this is the final furlong. No more juggling, no more going back and forth. But there is still a something before we can tie a bow around it and move into our next phase of life. It’s going to take strength and muster.
What can you focus on that is the other side of this ‘block / challenge?’
When we listen to the wisdom and passion in our heart, we hear our calling, and that is louder than anything our mind can throw at us aimed at keeping us in The Loop.Celebrate what you see within; to notice what spins your wheels also points to the way through. You may initially be able to throw only a little straw in the mud to get moving, but soon, you’ll be reaching 88mph and that’s when you get to see some serious s**t ;o)
What most enables you to experience a sense of oneness with all that is, and what does this mean for your intentions; the person you’re becoming, the footprint you have in your community and the world at large?
Shower Thoughts to ACT on…
Softening Into Possibility
Giving yourself warmth and compassion creates new possibilities for meaning in your life. Take one moment now to acknowledge your blocks, struggles, challenges - and be kind to yourself. Notice what happens next.
Take Time Out
Everyone deserves a break from the hectic pace of life. You are a priority. Plan time, if only for five minutes, today and every day forward to relax, breathe and allow your mind to float whatever it wants to float. Notice it. Maybe go for a walk, go somewhere special, make time to take care of your health and for these few minutes, focus on your needs instead of someone, or everyone else’s.Spread Connection
We can reach others through a simple smile. In the presence of pain, can you smile at someone you care about today or even a total stranger? We have no idea what other people are going through. Connection is everything, even if it’s the warmth of a simple smile that radiates ‘I see you’. It can mean so much more than we can ever know.
